If Theres Enough Interest we'll get a ride going up to the All British rally,, depends on how menys going for the weekend.
It would be nice to get a Vicrats/Ratbags camp at the All British Rally this year.
Its a big event with over 2000 bikes old and new.
33rd All Britsh Rally
This is one hell of a good rally, well organised with a large number of people and some great bikes. Originally it was for classic British bikes but over time Hinkley Triumphs have been attending and help keep the rally going. The attractions include swap meet, trade stalls, 2009 Triumphs (not by PS), motorcycle movies, a band, full catering, a bar, a pub & shop nearby also group rides. The raffle prize is a new Royal Enfield 500 single, all brands of bikes are welcome to attend.

I'm interested if theres a few of us going . Are you uteing your bikes there Tomcat ?
The Road Less Travelled
UTEING
Yes. Its a more relaxed weekend uteing a rigid bike to the rally, plus no room for the esky and camping gear, she has a single saddle. If any Flux Riders need gear taken up to the rally, because they "ONLY RIDE TO A RALLY"
feel free to put it in the ute. ABR numbers so far 1 Bugger 2 Tomcat 3 Kate 4 Cobungra? (You have a Beeza m8) Cheers Tomcat

Tighten til nut breaks off then back off 1/4 turn

New Springs
Cobungra, you my want to think about getting new front end progressive spring kit from www.britishspares.com/ A good suppler of parts for older british motorcycles based in New Zealand,,, good exchange rate too.
I get most of my stuff from them for my Norton.
I'm going to contact a few Norton mates that go up each year, mybe we can get a good mix of old and new going up.
Momentum is building
Okay , this is starting to look good. Talked with Tomcat , and he can take in the ute peoples tents and stuff. I guess , closer to the time we'll have to start organising a drop off for tents . Maybe a dinner somewhere or lunch so tents can be loaded onto the ute.
So far theres lots of Vicrats going . I'm a definite . I'll add names to the main post as people verify that they'll be there. Maybe we can organise a ride there , though some are likely to make their own way there, but we should arganise an area we can all set up while there hey !

Birmingham Small Arms
I Dont,,,,,, you blokes
I'll be going on my Norton and will be takeing my gear on the back, Its just the way I have been doing it for years,,, If I win the gate prize, I'll be picking it up from Melbourne,,, The bike will be back in melb and not staying at campbells creek for 2 weeks,,,, theres 2 weeks to pick up my new bike.
but I might take advantage of the free ride for the tent and bag this time, I might bring my hockys straps for the way back.
It will save you from doing another drop off TC,, my the best ticket win
Dont foreget about this one Guys & Girls
Its caming up in lease than 3 weeks,,, its a ass kicking rally and should not be missed,,, more than 1500-2000 bikes,,,,,,,,you will be suprised at the amount of hinkley Triumph that go and more and more each year, as well as the older british eye candy,,, last year it was about half old and half new Triumphs,,, Came on go out and get a tent and sleeping bag.,,,,,,, you will not regret it..
This is one of the biggest rallys in the south hemophear and in the country, more Triumph than Port, or valla or the up and caming NSW triumph rally at jinderbyen, or nug nug, combined, its the biggest British rally you will ever see.
You can ruff it for one night a year,( you'll be pissed anyway
) to be apart of the All British rally once a year.
That tent and bag might just came in handy in the future as well.
Hundreds of Bon Fire will litter the rally site,,, wood is supplied,,, its one not to be missed.
British and other bands ride from all over Australia came to do this rally,, its the 33 rd year of the rally and its been going (generations old)
You will not be let down, its the biggest, Im not calling it a triumph rally but Its bigger than all of them combined.
So looking forward to it.
So looking forward to it. Will move this onto the front page as soon as the 'Ride for the Hills' is done with this w/e . Will aslo organise with Tomcat about a restaurant/pub meet up a week before for those looking to have tents/camp gear taken up. Wouldn't it be fantastic if one of us won that enfield. Especially me
but even so , I'm looking forward to the camping and the riding and the bonfires and music .... and dancing. Dont forget to take a camera . I'll be taking a video camera as well , 'cause the new site will take video and I'll be vsmping up that side of things for this site.
This will be my first ever Rally. If I like it I just may become a rally groupie. Cant wait.

Lets not go to mad
Lets not go to mad, with the gear for tomacat,,, Dont bring eskys, I have 2 large esky's that we can all use and try and keep your gear down to a min,,, you can always strap a over night bag on your bike or your back,,,, All I'm saying it lets just stick to the basics,,,,,,,,,,, its only one night,,,,, so dont bring the kicthen sink,,,, you will need a tent & sleeping bag and a compact fold up cheers,,, The rest you can carry on a Back Pack,,Eg underwear & change,, if you shit yourself,,,,Tollet paper should be packed( dont rely on there being some in the toilets),, ,,,,, turoch,,,blow up mattrus,,,food , if you dont want to by Food is avalible on site,,,,,,,, so on and so on,,,,,,, Mybe tomact or someone could bring a BBq and we can take some bacon & eggs , bread, and chip in for a few snags & chops and do owe own thing for food.

As for Food,,,,,,,,,,,,, I would recone about About $15 per head would cover the weekend BBQ ,,,,,, per head,,,,,, we got to know your caming, this will have to be worked out before a few days before the rally, I will be happy to cover costs but it should be talked about at the per Rally meeting a few days before,,, If you cant make it to the meeting , just let us know your caming and we can work it out a day or two before the day. ( If I'm going to get food you have to let me know a few days before)

The Predicted Weather for the weekend
Is Killing my Fun Factor
Well Its not much fun camping out in the hail
Well Its not much fun camping out in the hail, wind and rain thunderstorms,,, I have heard from a few that are not going.
I would still go if it was only a few shower, But its no fun with a water loged tent, wet boots, wet sleeping bags and sleeping in your wet weather gear.
Tommorow night is not looking to good with hail, winds, thunderstorms cold, its looking like it setting in and not looking good.

Bloody beautiful weather in campbell's creek - lucky we all hat our sunscreen and sunhats!

hahahaha @karen. Quite right as well . What goes on the rally stays on the Rally. Just had a visit from Tomcat on the way home. He looks good as does his bike on the back of that ute. Sounds like a fantastic w/e and I make this pledge - never will I ever again let weather watchers affect my decisions ....

OHHHHH Yeah right,,, Just Blame Me
OHHHHH Yeah right,,, Just Blame Me
Becouse you got Pissed and sleept in
ABR
Kate - you are right about your senses being enhanced after a nice chilly ride - nothing quite like standing around the campfire with a nice muscat and good company to warm up - you really know you are alive. Even though the weather forecast was not too bright - so many people there - and some of the best examples of British motorcycling you could ever imagine.
Little boys who tell lies grow up to be weather men - don't ever let the weather stand in the way of a good rally - that's what helps to makes it memorable!
I dont blame anyone fragile
I dont blame anyone fragile one except myself. I let weather talk get in my head . Its something I've never done , especially considering Victorias weather situation which can change by the minute. Dont blame you at all.

+1 to everything you said
+1 to everything you said Karen. A good wake up call for me . Thanks for your post.

Enjoyable times
G'day guy's. In spite of the changeable conditions I had a good time as did many of the others in the group. Plenty of very interesting motor cycles from earlier times (too many to list). Had a sit on the new Thunderbird, quite comfortable I thought but I wonder how it would be after a couple of hours, hmm. Already modifying several items on this machine, (in my mind that is). I will take one of these out when the time is right. ....... Well getting back to the rally, it was good to catch up with some familiar faces once again and to meet up with some new ones. See some of you next year, I like the current location a lot better than Newstead as it has a bit more space etc. Sorry but no photos for you guy's, um well cause I was a little bit um, unstable / wobbly lets say. Too much of a good thing I think !!!!!!!!
ABR
The Motorcycle Trader magazine has done a write up on the 2009 ABR and will be out tomorrow,
also i found a couple of links. Check out the Black Rocket III, the riders look familiar
