First Race Of The Season

Well Broadford proved to be an exciting start to the race season with the Hartwel Race Club. With temperatures reaching 38-39 degrees we struggled through the weekend with a FANTASTIC result.
Pulling on his race suit and looking like a little Telly Tubby..haha,Chris was determined to start the season with his first win...So, with a loving tap on the tank and a few encouraging words to his much loved GPZ900R he was off to do just that.
After the qualifying rounds on Saturday he had successfully claimed front row for all his races on Sunday. By the end of the weekend and totally exhausted from the heat, Chris had not only managed to win ALL the races in his class but also claimed OVERALL CHAMPION for the round. Extremely happy about winning 3 trophies for 1st place and one for the Championship round he was beside himself and totally speechless when he was awarded the trophy for BEST PRESENTED bike.
Not so happy after the weekend was the bike !!! Yes the poor girl had given her all and ended the weekend with a nacked gearbox. So it's off for a bit of TLC and a few adjustments before the next round at Mt Gambia in March.

Cool. Our first race meet

Cool. Our first race meet report Thanks tracy. Thanks for all the pics as well, and a great weekend. Had a great time and really looking forward to Mt Gambier. We may even get to meet some of these SA riders with a bit of luck. Lets us know how the bike is getting on. Hope Chris manages to get that gearbox sorted. Rapt when he got the best presented bike because I know how much he puts into the bike down to the finest detail .

Hiya Kate, glad you had a

Hiya Kate, glad you had a great time hon Smile Chris has been working on his baby since he got back. Pulling it completely apart. He's sending some parts off tomorrow so i will let you know how he goes. Yeah it was a pretty emotional moment when they gave him that trophy...haha that bike is his pride and joy and doing what he's always wanted to do (racing) on THAT bike makes for a great love story..haha. It's damn hard trying to compete with a giant green motor bike hahaha. But like you said... It was soooooo deserved.I am so proud of him Smile

:) Always good being around

Smile Always good being around bikes of course, but the w/e was special because of the great company. Really glad we are friends Smile Then there was also the shed. Really, 38 degrees is hot, so all those stripped of sweaty males was pretty errrr, cool haha. I think I managed to keep my stares discreet though Smile Cant believe that gorgeous Duke went down. Damn. Best though was just being a part of a special day for Chris and yourself. Good on you for encouraging and supporting his dream. Your two sons are just the bomb. Still have a giggle thinking about the little one. Hes very cute and soooo funny and certainly has the ladies wrapped around his little fingers. Now , we have to get our little zzr's out on the road and go for a ride together really soon. Cant let the boys have all the bike fun hey!

errr, hi jacqui Last report

errr, hi jacqui Last report is - Chris ( thats the good looking bloke sorrounded by trophies ) will be at mac park on Thursday , setting up all on his lonesome because the rest of us cant get time off . He'll have to be getting the bike off , tents set up etc etc because he is on track on the friday - qualifiers are Saturday , and racing Sunday. Me and Tracy and chris ( thats Chris the son not chris the trophied boyfriend ) are leaving around 3 or so on the friday and heading over so we will be there I'd guess anywhere from 8 to 10. If you can get there earlier and help Chris till we get there that would be great. TRACY - perhaps you could pm jacqui Chris's mobile so Jacqui can ring him when she gets there to find out where the hell we will all be . Shes got a tent and I can share with her rather than set up your daughters tent for me. JACQUI - I presume you will be caging it ?
