Goodbye to 2008
Well what a bugga!
Small crash at Winton then a big one at Phillip Island!!!
I'm sitting here with a broken leg and not really feeling like writing but every body keeps asking about what happened.
Winton was a bit of a bugga but I really couldn't have improved on second place anyway.
As it all turned out it was a split coolant hose that made me lose the back end and have a big 'off'.
Shame as I was closing in on Craig who was showing some real speed at the tail end of the year and deserves the win of the championship.
"To finish first you first must finish"
With a lot of damage to the bike it was a struggle to get it up for the State Titles at Phillip Island where I had a good chance of getting 3rd in a class that the bike is at least 10 years too old for. So that would have been awesome! But it was not to be. And the bike was flying!!!!
I was just entering Lucky Heights and about to crack open the throttle when a bike ran into me from behind! We think something on her bike hit my leg and broke it.
And we were both off into the kitty litter. I knew as soon as I got up something was wrong. She was full of apologies but I don't think I was in the mood to be sympathetic.
Next weeks race at Broadford is out, but I'm so far ahead in points I still get 1st place in the championship. so that's something.
So for now it's just rest and wait for the new workshop to be finished so I can get started on the major rebuild for next season.
HMMMM a 250 is looking good!!!!
Thanks to all that helped and encouraged, Dave at Krooztune, Mark at Madaz and of course Tracy and Chris for all the help in the pits and putting up with me.
So till next year cheers!!!!!!
Chris
