Mac Park Conquered

Well another round completed and not without it's share of dramas.
Kate and I set off around 3:30pm from Blackburn and headed for Mt Gambier. The city run was pretty busy but a clear run the rest of the way.
We reached Mt Gambier around 8:30pm and after some confusing and very strange directions from the guys already at the track..haha ( At the funny little roundabout ) NOT!!! it was a big roundabout, turn left... then when you see ( the little people ) on a sign turn right..haha, we made it to the track in one piece. All be it with a nice chip in my windscreen
.
Friday track day went well and the bike performed brilliantly after a gearbox rebuild.
Saturday proved to be even better with Chris claiming pole position for his races.
The first race on Saturday netted the first trophy of the weekend.
Sunday started off with another win in the first race but only JUST !!! After running off the track Chris still managed to cross the finish line in FIRST place
. But not long after the finish line the bike decided to just stop on the track.
A few tense moments past before he finally arrived back at the pitts on the back of a trailer.
Having frantically pulled the bike apart to find out what was wrong, it was discovered that it was an electrical problem and with no way of getting parts... ( thanks to all the auto elec's in Mt Gambier being closed ) there was no way of fixing the bike to complete the last race
So now begins the hard slog to make up the pionts to win this years chamionship.
So with no more racing for the weekend we all kicked back and relaxed at the camp site then headed for the pub for dinner.
Now for Monday !!! My god.. what a drive home. Way too many caravans and if you can.. STEER CLEAR of Geelong. That place is a joke. It took us a good hour to get from one side of Geelong to the other.
Kate, if you ever want to share the drive to another race I'm all for it...
I had a ball all the way there and back..haha Our chat on being sucked off the back of a bike was priceless ( watch out Merc drivers ) hahaha.
Jacqui it was great to finally meet you and I hope to catch up with you again. You were a great help to Chris with all that electrical mumbo jumbo..haha Thanks heaps
