The photo was taken in my parents back garden (yard) and I do recall the barrel/planter. And the (ineffective) drip tray was a biscuit tin. Ah the memories thyis brings back - the frustration, the kick-start compression injuries, the profanities etc etc . But as you said, I was very happy to see it again.
Nice pic . Top pic actually and brings back lots of memories for lots of us I am betting. Not that I actually had one of those , but I did spend many a day in a garage making mulls while the boyfriend cursed and did stuff on one of those oil leaking works of art hehehe. Actually , it was hardly ever ridden - spending most of its days tormenting him in the garage .....

Seems the years that have passed along with either desire or more likely delusion have altered my view of reality. Upon closer inspection of the bike, I have to say it looks very much like a Triumph but because I'm obviously quite hopeless at identifying motorcycles - which model is it?

A fine looking pre unit Triumph, which model I don't know, but would have come out of Meriden in the late 50's. It has been fitted with aftermarket rims, exhaust, seat, clip ons, tank and fairing. But I do stand to be corrected. Cheers TC
Nice!
I am thinking this shot must have been from a fair while back, is that a Wooden Keg or Barrel in the background ?
Could the 'Drip Tray' be an old Biscuit Tin ?
Great to see a Norton styled like that, You must be chuffed to have that photo in your hands again. Thanks for sharing it.
