Political-Legal-Lobby
The Victorian Motorcycle Advisory Council (VMAC) was established in early 1998, to provide the State Government with strategic advice on issues relating to the management and development of motorcycling in Victoria.
The structure and wide-ranging membership of the VMAC ensures that the balanced advice that it provides is contemporary, well informed and represents the views of the cycling community.
VMAC includes representatives of motorcycle rider groups, manufacturers, retailers and rider training organisations, as well as Victoria Police, Transport Accident Commission, Monash University Accident Research Centre and VicRoads. VicRoads provides administrative support to the Council.
The Motorcycle Riders Association of Victoria
In recent years the MRA in Melbourne has
been attempting to repair bridges burnt of the past. The name is now MRA
Vic and there are many new faces. The original web site http://www.mraa.org.au
is now a pointer site to other states as “MOTORCYCLE RIDER ASSOCIATIONS
OF AUSTRALIA”. With advent of other social rider networking sites, the
MRAVic now works with all the rider clubs and networks returning to it's
roots as a lobby organisation for rider rights. - DJ McCarthy 2009

* Ongoing efforts to retain Victoria’s footpath parking for all motorcycles and scooters (Powered Two Wheel vehicles).
* Ongoing lobbying for the removal of the unfair "levy".
* Seeking increased rider safety funding, transparent “Levy” expenditure and better driver awareness education in the Community Policing and Education policy.
* Lobbying against efforts to introduce compulsory protective clothing legislation.
* Successful lobbying for the recently released PTW Victorian Transport Strategy which covers many of the issues we raised through the VMAC.
* Discouraging use of mobile phones by drivers in moving vehicles
* Successful protests against lane splitting legislation.
* Successful protest against the reintroduction of Front mounted License plates for PTW and the ongoing lobbying against discriminatory electronic ID tagging.

Who are we?
The Motorcycle Council of NSW Inc. (MCC of NSW) is an internationally recognised umbrella group for motorcycle clubs, associations and ride groups, in the state of New South Wales, Commonwealth of Australia.
Established in 1982, the MCC of NSW is the peak body for motorcycling in this state. It represents over 41 clubs, with more than 36,000 riders.
The MCC of NSW Committee includes: Guy (Chairman), Cliff (Vice Chairman), Ray (Treasurer), Christine (Secretary), Brian (Chair of Road Safety), Paul, John, Tom, Jo, Sean (General Committee).
What do we do for you?
We lobby locally, nationally and internationally for motorcycle riders' rights. We promote motorcycling and the interests of motorcyclists.
Some issues include:
- Road safety
- Legislation
- Crash barriers
- Parking
- Tolling
- Exhaust Labelling
How does the MCC work?
The MCC is run along democratic lines. Member clubs raise issues from their own meetings via their delegates. These items are placed on the agenda of the MCC. The decision on whether an issue will be taken up or not is determined by a vote of the delegates.
The Motorcycle Riders Association of South Australia
is an association whose main aim is to protect the rights of all motorcyclists in South Australia and provide them with a voice in the public and political arenas. It also aims to change the negative attitudes shown towards motorcyclists by the media and the general public through its support of road safety initiatives and its involvement in the local community with such events as the SA Toy Run and various charity rides. It also has a social side, holding rallies and runs for members and friends to get together in a family friendly environment.
The MRA SA is run by motorcyclists for motorcyclists and membership entitles you to have an active role in the Association and how it is run. You are entitled to vote on issues which will affect the future of motorcycling, as well as contribute ideas and raise issues. You may stand for election to the MRA Committee or its Subcommittees, contribute to the MRA magazine, the ‘Centrestand’ and come along to meetings and have your say.
The Motorcycle Riders Association is not an exclusive organisation, and welcomes membership from riders of all ages, makes and marques of motorcycles and scooters, new, old, vintage or classic. Being a member of another club or organisation does not prevent you joining the Motorcycle Riders Association and enjoying the benefits of membership.
represents motorcylists from the ACT and surrounding districts in government forums reponsible for legislation, road and traffic conditions and road safety.
Motorcyclists are a small percentage of the road user population. Our needs are often overlooked. We need to protect ourselves from unfair legislation, ill considered road engineering practices, and ineffective and mistargeted road safety strategies.
The MRA ACT actively participates in road safety forums at Federal, State and ACT Government levels, either directly with ACT Government, or through our membership and affiliations with Australian Motorcycle Council. We are directly represented on the Australian Transport Safety Bureau Motorcycle Safety Consultative Forum (ConCom).
We liaise with ACT government on local road, traffic and parking conditions.
We have a close relationship with the Motorcycle Council of NSW as being an island territory many of our riding issues are dealt with by that body.
MRA also has a community focus. We support local charities such as the Smith Family and Salvation Army, and are now supporting motorcycle crash victims in a variety of ways.
We encourage all motorcylists from the ACT to contribute to our efforts either through membership or active involvement in our committee and project teams.
Or just get involved in our social side - join us for a ride or our monthly dinners, bring your learner or new rider friends along to our Discovery Rides, or come to our other social functions.
The Motorcycle Riders' Association of Queensland

The Motorcycle Riders Associations of Tasmania
The three Motorcycle Riders Associations of Tasmania promote the social side of motorcycling and organise runs, rallies and other activities for the benefit of members and other motorcyclists; aim to overcome negative attitudes sometimes shown towards motorcyclists; and raise money for certain charities.
The MRA in Tasmania now consists of three autonomous groups (northwest, north and south). Each group has its own section on this web site. Contact details and membership forms for each group can be found in these sections.
This site shall remain as a shared resource between the three groups. So, for more information about motorcycle related events in Tasmania, watch the events page. The events page has been left in a statewide format.
The Motorcycle Riders Association of Western Australia
The MRA WA is a non-profit voluntary organisation that has existed in Western Australia for over 25 years. Political representation regarding road safety and legislation affecting motorcyclists are our main aims. That is, to oversee all motorcyclists rights and work for a fair and sensible deal for ALL motorcyclists. All motorcycle riders are welcome to join the MRA WA. As a member your support in promoting the aims and leading by example will help to enhance the image of motorcycling.
THE AIMS OF MRAWA
To Strive for Fair and Sensible Legislation
We as citizens need laws that will protect and preserve our right to choose, without being compelled by legislation to conform by those who have different opinions toward our lifestyle. The MRA WA is apolitical and actively pursues the rights of ALL motorcyclists by lobbying ALL political parties.
Improve Road Safety
All road users must develop a greater awareness for motorcyclists. The MRA WA supports Rider Training Programs, and all road user training programs, and encourages all motorcyclists to participate. The MRA WA firmly believes Education not Legislation Saves Lives.
Improve the Image of Motorcycling
We aim to promote the positive aspects of Motorcycling to the public. As an Association, the MRA WA provides events such as the Annual Motorcycle Awareness Ride and Memorial Ride, and supports the activities of other motorcycle organisations such as the Bikers Charity Ride and other rides for positive causes.
To Promote Motorcycling
Motorcycles are a viable transport alternative. Motorcycles generate less pollution, use less fuel and require less parking space in public areas. Sporting activities such as off-road racing is exciting for both riders and spectators. The motorcycle lifestyle with its sense of community and camaraderie can offer a change of pace with current lifestyle trends.
