I tell ya, Stevo's are wankers.

We're gunna do a track day at P.I next week so new tyres are the go, Pirelli's Diablo Rosso Corsa. The sales man asks what size. This is a bit odd but I reply 180/55 for both. Another salesman pipes in and informs me the Speed Triple runs 190's. "Not pre 2010 they don't" says I." Well I used to work at the city store and that's all we fitted" says he. "Well both my 07 and 2010, as instucted in the owners manual, have 180's. The 2011 runs a 190."

Anyhoo they check for 180's and they have two sets, $400 each. Not bad I think but upon closer inspection they don't look like what we've ordered. "Are they the Corsa's?"

"Which one do you want?" He asks. WTF! Corsa you fucking spastic. The've given us Rosso 2's. Two different tread patterns!!!!!

Now the only reason we asked for the Corsa's is they were highly recommended to us last track day and they didn't dissapoint. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

So we'll try the Rosso 2's but if I low side it cause the tyre let go I'll go back and smash the fuckers in the face.

Usually coz they're the

Usually coz they're the cheapest and they're close. I've been using mototecnic in knoxfield lately filters, tyres, oil etc but they are shut still, so stevo's was the go. It's just a worry that they are putting incorrect tyres on bikes unless the customer tells them otherwise!

Triumph UK need to take over sales here

I use Bikemart in Ringwood for tyres and parts. AMX for riding gear. PS have too many brands (insert a smiley with it's head in the clouds) and seem to care only for HD owners  Another business that I like is Wheels of Time in Dandenong, who have bike and car books and workshop manuals Cheers TC

Tyres
Fitted a Pirelli Diablo Corsa Rosso to the back of the Street Triple a few weeks ago and it feels great. I use Pablo's in Mulgrave and it cost me $329.00 They seem to have a great stock of whatever you want. Cheers.

It sounds like you've got the Rosso 2's which are a bit more user friendly on the road.

If you have the Corsa's they should have a red Corsa on the side wall.

Oh, and G'day there young fella.

Shithouse grip front, rear or both? The rear seems alright on road, front still scrubbing in so too early to tell. I'll be shitted off if they're no good cause they were recomended as best option. Crazy

I can only give feed back

I can only give feed back from the track. I took it fairly easy on the first lap to warm up the tyres. By the second lap I was up to 80% herb mode and then I started to give it the berries. The back kept stepping out and I had a fairly violent one on turn 6 where it had the potential for a high side. Compared to the Corsa's these felt pox.

But for the road they are prolly alright but I much prefer the Michellins.

My main gripe is Stevo's should know more about tyres than me.

Stevo's and tyres
That's right but stevo's are fuc#ing useless for anything and it's just a shame they have the monopoly (almost) on the bikes we love to ride.As for the tyres, I never had problems with the Bridgestones fitted from new, which I just replaced. Pablo's recon the rossos are better but I'll be pissed off if I find out I should have gone with the Michelins cause they carry them all. Also I plan to do some track days too and like you, I don't like to compromise when it comes to grip. Maybe the fact that i'm on the 675 could make a difference.

Interesting comment Prole. "I never had problems with the Bridgestones fitted from new' I'm a big fan of Bridgys and won't change brands as I believe that the tyres exceed the needs of road riding. All at a better price and with good mileage. I see more negative comments about PS again..... Cheers TC

There are new bridgestones

There are new bridgestones for track as well and according to Chris they are the bees knees ( he should know cause he races them ) . So far I like these new Michy 3's . I think they are better than the bridgestones in the wet, but thats me. Jacqui is a big fan of Dunlop so I guess everyones mileage varies.

If you have Oggy Knobs, take them off before you go on the track. I've heard some nasty stories when the bike is involved in a prang
