Tassie Day Three

Day Three Cradle Mountain to Hobart

Tuesday 10/03/09 09.30am after a delicous diner last night of canned soup and a dry bread roll i was looking foward to breakfast in Queenstown, After packing the bike we hit the road heading for Queenstown, about 20 mimits down the road we found heavy fog, oh joy !, how friggen cold is it riding in fog ? About an hour later we came into bright sunshine that had me smiling, so we were able to pick up the pace ......

At Queenstown we refueled the bike and ourselfs with bacon, eggs & tomatoes and a good coffee,.Then it was back on the bike and on to Hobart. The road out of Queenstown really needs to be seen to be believed, denuded hills with only a couple of trees to be seen and the road is just corner after corner pretty tight as well. .......

Then about an hour later after some realy great twisties we stopped a Derwent Bridge for a coffee. ......

After coffee at the pub our next stop was Hamilton, 30 minute stop (Glenda is still hurting with lower back pain after our Chrisy pressent so we need to rest after an hour or so) had another coffee at the  Platypus pie shop, one the best pie shops in Tassie, then we set off for Hobart, about 2.00pm we arrived at the Midcity Hotel. where we stayed for the next three nights. That night we went all the way over the road to the New Sydney Hotel for dinner ,great food and not a long walk home. .....
